Why do CNC cylindrical grinders have spiral lines on the surface during machining

The CNC cylindrical grinder adopts a mechanical and electrical integrated structural layout, using simulated protection of the working area or overall simulated protection, which is easy to maintain and meets the requirements of ergonomics. The grinding wheel spindle system has high rotational accuracy. It can choose various forms of diamond dressing devices, achieve CNC dressing, and automatically compensate. It is equipped with an active measuring device to achieve full closed-loop control of grinding processing. The CNC cylindrical grinder has control functions such as grinding process program transformation, workpiece quality management, machine tool status monitoring, fault self diagnosis, and abnormal alarm. The menu interface is easy to input.

When machining with a CNC cylindrical grinder, there may be spiral lines on the surface, mainly due to the poor flatness and unevenness of the grinding wheel's generatrix, which causes partial contact between the grinding wheel and the workpiece surface. The reasons for the occurrence of spiral lines during grinding are as follows:

1. The longitudinal speed of the machine tool worktable and the linear speed of the workpiece rotation are too high.

2. The axis of the grinding wheel is not parallel to the guide rail of the machine tool worktable.

3. The lubricating oil for the machine tool worktable guide rail is under high pressure and excessive, causing the worktable to float.

4. After grinding wheel dressing, the edges are chamfered.

5. When repairing the grinding wheel, uneven cooling occurs.

6. The lateral feed rate is too large.

7. Poor grinding wheel dressing.

8. The fit between the tailstock sleeve and the taper is poor.

Safety operating procedures for CNC cylindrical grinding machines:

1. The installation of the new grinding wheel should be done lightly, and a soft cushion about one-third smaller than the diameter of the grinding wheel should be placed on it. Then, gently tap it with a wooden hammer until there is no noise before starting. The operator stands beside the machine and runs it for 10 minutes without any deviation or vibration before use.

2. The machine tool needs to be cleaned, and before driving, check whether the position of the handle and travel limit block is correct.

3. When the grinding wheel approaches the workpiece, it is necessary to use a hand crank and carefully observe whether there are any protrusions or indentations on the workpiece.

4. When using workpieces, the geometric shape of the center hole should be checked. If the CNC cylindrical grinder is incorrect, it should be corrected in a timely manner. During the grinding process, it is not allowed to loosen.

5. When using the flat grinding workbench too quickly, pay attention to its endpoint. When the workpiece with a small contact area is not easily attracted by magnetic force, a stopper needs to be added. When the disk suction weakens, grinding should be stopped in a timely manner.
