How to deal with oil leakage faults in surface grinders?

Oil leakage from surface grinders is a headache for many users, but as long as they master the causes and judgment methods of oil leakage from surface grinders, and propose improvement measures, the effect will be better after use. Generally, oil leakage in surface grinders is caused by the following main issues:

1、 The oil leakage of the dust-proof sheet metal at both ends of the workbench is usually caused by careless assembly of the surface grinder. The screws that fix the dust-proof sheet metal are threaded through both ends of the guide rail, and the oil directly seeps out from the guide rail. The solution is to wrap the screws of the surface grinder with adhesive tape, apply sealant, and then put them on.

2、 The oil level adjustment is too large. After opening the oil tank cover, use a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the oil valve switch separately. Clockwise adjustment is small, and counterclockwise adjustment is large. Generally, the oil level control is to first lock clockwise and then rotate it to loosen by 1/4. The oil groove on the wear-resistant plate of the guide rail surface grinder is not properly opened, it is too shallow or not fully opened, and the oil cannot escape and overflows from the side. It should be re opened in place; The oil hole is blocked and the oil is forced out of the guide rail. The blocked oil hole is usually caused by the oil being too viscous or dirty. Replace the oil type or clean the oil circuit. If it is an old surface grinder, the guide rail is usually too dirty and the oil circuit is blocked. Clean and replace the oil.

3、 The front and rear screws are leaking oil. If it is a new surface grinder leaking oil, it is usually due to the front and rear telescopic sleeves of the screw not being installed properly, the screws at both ends not being locked or the sealant not being applied properly. If it is an old surface grinder, the screw sleeve needs to be replaced and the sealant needs to be reapplied.
